READ THIS FIRST: General Clearance Rule

With all the clearance sales happening the day after Christmas, I thought I'd share the "General Clearance Rule" I learned from Freebies2Deals. Most stores follow something called the 3-3-2 rule.  This applies to every Holiday except for Christmas. This is important to know when you are trying to get post holiday deals.
Here is how it works year-round this is how Clearance works.  However, it may vary from store to store:
Monday: Infants department, Kids clothing and Electronics (maybe food also)
Tuesday: Women’s clothing, Domestics
Wednesday:  Men’s clothing, Garden, Toys, Health and Beauty
Thursday:  Lingerie, Shoes, Housewares, Sporting Goods, Luggage
Friday:  Cosmetics, Hardware, Auto, Home Improvement and Jewelry
Holidays:
The first 3 days after the holiday are 50% off.
The next 3 days are 75% off.
The next 2 days are 90%.
After that it’s gone.
Valentines: General Clearance 3-3-2 Rule
Easter: General Clearance 3-3-2 Rule
4th of July:  General Clearance 3-3-2 Rule (The dates always stay the same since the Holiday is always on July 4th)
July 5 = 50% off
July 8 = 75% off
July 10 = 90% off
Halloween: (The dates always stay the same since the Holiday is always on October 31st)
Nov 1st = 50% off
Nov 4th = 75% off
Nov 7th = 90% off
Thanksgiving: General Clearance 3-3-2 Rule
This should help you out when trying to get the best deals on Clearance items!

The Seven Best Ways To Invest Your Time Article from LearnVest

BY MARIA LIN

We all agree that time is more valuable than money.

At least, that's what we say.

Then we turn around and spend hours watching bad TV. Or 45 minutes on the phone with customer service fighting a $5 charge. Or years in a relationship or friendship we stopped feeling fulfilled by long ago.

I've been thinking about time as a tangible asset not unlike money in many ways, and about ways to invest our time to yield higher returns—better memories, more hours well spent, even minutes that nourish us instead of fly by.

Think of these as blue-chip time investments that can't go wrong, and that will yield high dividends for a more fulfilled life.

THE SEVEN BEST WAYS TO INVEST YOUR TIME.

Great Article from LearnVest: Are Credit Unions Better?

IS A CREDIT UNION BETTER?

You might not normally think of credit unions as sexy or hip.

They don't have glossy ad campaigns and beautiful branches on every street corner. Even their basic definition—non-profit financial co-ops—sounds boring.

But these days, more and more Americans are clamoring to join the club of credit unions. This is in large part because of the furor that erupted over new debit card fees announced by several commercial banks in September.

So, what makes credit unions special, and why is everyone so obsessed?

FIND OUT WHEN A CREDIT UNION IS WORTH IT—AND WHEN IT'S NOT.
